Clint turned 28 in July. Upon realizing that all four of our husbands had birthdays within about a week of each other, my friends Debbie, Kayleen, Jessica and I decided we needed to throw a joint party. So we did, and it was awesome.
I designed invitations and did the chalk lettering for the big light-up names. I also made food signs with funny descriptions to represent each of their personalities. Debbie and Jessica, party planner extraordinaires (they did my beautiful baby shower), were pretty much responsible for all the other fun decorations. There were gourmet sliders with lots of toppings, and our friend Myke made delicious baklava and cookies for dessert.
After eating, we played a game of loaded questions and then had a YouTube film festival. We took turns showing the funniest videos and the boys rated them. (Sidenote: have you ever watched this music video? Wow.) Believe me when I say there was a lot of laughter. Considering that all four of these guys are hilarious, you can imagine what a fun party it was. Definitely a success as far as birthday celebrations go.
Oh and of course it goes without saying that we're lucky to have such great friends all living right in our neighborhood...

Angela, this is out of control amazing. I can't even handle it.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop looking through these photos and loving every single thing. Please tell me more about the snack sign. And also come throw my next party.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie. That's a big compliment coming from you. My friend made the SNACKS sign with those large cardboard letters you can get from a craft store, painted them and put them on a big piece of painted foam board, and then holes punched around the edge with bulbs from a string of lights. We've re-used it for a couple parties now :)
DeleteHow lovely! Youz got skillz gurrrl.
ReplyDeleteHaha this is awesome. Those outlined drawings of your boys crack me up! :) You guys throw the best parties!!
ReplyDeleteOh and do you have info on those forks?! So cute...
ReplyDeleteThe bamboo forks are from Party City, and we just taped off the ends and painted them in our colors. They were one of my favorite details.

i love this so much. i saw these pics on jess and abe's instagrams and ached to be there. i love those two.
ReplyDeleteI really love those forks! Where do I get those? Are they supposed to be disposable?
ReplyDeletethey are bamboo forks from party city. we taped off the ends and painted them. i'm not sure if they are supposed to be disposable, but they are pretty heavy duty and i think definitely re-usable. we saved them.
DeleteThis sounds like such a fun idea. Some of my cousins, my brother and I share the same birthday month in December, so we group it along with Christmas. :P This would be a great idea to celebrate our special days among the holidays. :D
